Biking is a wonderful way to discover the most beautiful spots in Tuscany. Set off on two wheels to discover the rolling countryside which stretches from Florence to Chianti, with vineyard covered hills, tiny picturesque villages, and stunning views from each peak.

By following the best bike paths in Tuscany, you can reach Florence along the Via Francigena or the Ciclopista del Sole – Eurovelo 7. Otherwise, for a simpler ride, you can explore the countryside surrounding Florence by mountain bike or the historic center by city bike.

Florence is perfect for discovering on two wheels, as the center is flat and relatively small. Just outside the city, there are rolling hills that can be explored by bike by anyone, even riders who don’t take to the saddle very often.

Our boutique hotel is the perfect base for bikers, as we are near the historic center of Florence, all the main roads running into the city, and the Santa Maria Novella train station.

From Velona’s Jungle Luxury Suites, guests can follow an itinerary around Florence by bike that includes stops at all the main sights and monuments. The first leg is to Piazza San Marco, and from there continuing towards the synagogue and the famous Mercatino delle Pulci flea market, passing by the Galleria dell’Accademia. From here, continue peddling to the Santa Croce neighborhood, with its picturesque lanes and palazzi. Afterwards, head to the iconic Duomo, Piazza della Signora, and Palazzo Vecchio until reaching Ponte Vecchio, one of the most recognized symbols of Florence. Cross over the bridge to reach Palazzo Pitti, the Basilica di Santo Spirito, and the Borgo San Frediano neighborhood. Cross back over teh Arno river on the Ponte alla Carraia bridge to explore the Borgo Ognissanti neighborhood before continuing past Santa Maria Novella to return to Velona’s Jungle Luxury Suites.
